ATLANTA CONSULATE OF
The Democratic Republic of
Sao Tome & Principe
The Democratic Republic of Sao Tome and Principe
consists of the two islands of "Sao Tome" and
"Principe" and a number of smaller islets all situate
in the Gulf of Guinea.

Sao Tome lies approximately 180 miles from the coast of
Gabon and is crossed by the equator at it's southern
tip. Principe is 160 miles from the coast of Equatorial
Guinea. Sao Tome has a land area of 330 square miles
and Principe has a land area of 42 square miles. The
islands are volcanic in origin and rise to a height of
6,639 feet above sea level.

The climate is tropical with two rainy seasons in March
and September. The islands exhibit incredible natural
beauty and enjoy not only unspoiled sandy beaches and
crystal clear water but also an untapped wealth of
animal and plant life.
